From a very young age, Ramon sang at family gatherings and parties. His musical creativity was nurtured in a very “bohemian” environment. His father, Manuel de Jesus Galvez, a well-known bachatero from the 60s and 70s, was a great influence to Ramon.
Ramon later moved to New York where he had the opportunity to record his first album. He was able to gain some interest among the local “Nuyorican” community, but his dream was to become a well-known musician in his own country.
His album, Paz En La Cama, helped him achieve his dream. He was an instant star in The Dominican Republic as well as in Panama, Puerto Rico, and St. Martin.
He went on to produce several other hits, including “Un Poquito De Amor,” “Como Te Voy a Ovidar,” “Quiereme,” and “El Osito Dormillon” which brought him even more fame in his home country and all around the world.
“El Gringo” is considered one of the best representatives of “La Sangre nueva de la Bachata”, that is, a new generation of musicians who have brought the genre to the forefront of Latin music.

Cuando pasabas por mi lado y te
Quedabas asi mirando, pensativa
Como adivinar que esa Miranda tan bonita tenia ese toque de malicia se te notaba a miles de millas
Cuando te vi a mi también me paso algo se me notaba interesado y confundido
The lyrics to El Gringo de la Bachata's song A Miles de Millas talk about the confusion that two people may feel when they are interested in one another but are unsure of how the other person feels. The singer is questioning how he can know what the other person is thinking when they pass each other and the person looks at them thoughtfully. He then goes on to mention the beauty of the other person and how it was clear that they had a touch of mischief about them. Despite the distance between them, the singer could still feel the other person's energy and vibe.
The lyrics suggest that both people were interested in each other, as the singer admits that he also felt something for the other person and was clearly showing it through his behavior. However, there was some confusion and uncertainty about how the other person felt. The lyrics are relatable to many people who have experienced similar situations, as it can be difficult to gauge someone's interest or feelings from their actions alone.
Overall, the song is a reflection on the complexity of human relationships and the difficulty of understanding other people's thoughts and feelings.
