Ahora Feliz Feliz

duerme, ahora feliz, feliz ...
The song "Ahora Feliz Feliz" by El Niño Gusano is a playful and slightly surrealistic representation of desire in relationships. The first verse sets the tone by describing the moon as a collar, perhaps alluding to the way that love can encapsulate and control us. The next line suggests a sense of dependence on medication or drugs to deal with this controlled state, implying the idea that being in love can be like living in a dream or trance.
The second verse continues with this theme of control by describing the addressee's clothing as having so many zippers that they cannot be fully undressed, suggesting that while the singer desires intimacy, it is hard to fully connect with the other person. The line "Cada caricia es un gran hotel" (Every caress is a grand hotel) speaks to the idea that every moment of affection is transient, almost like checking into a hotel.
The chorus repeats the sentiment that the singer is more interested in "olerte" (smelling) and "envenenar manzanas" (poisoning apples) than in mundane things like eating or taking care of oneself. This could be interpreted as a dark humor, as the singer would rather indulge in the dangerous and thrilling aspects of relationships than participate in banalities. Throughout the song, there is a sense of mischievousness and nonconformity, implying that the singer is uninterested in societal norms and expectations.
