Among their greatest hits -after their Three Souls era- "Triste Cancion" (based on Neil Young's "Like a Hurricane"), "Metro Balderas" (originally by Rodrigo Gonzalez), and "Piedras Rodantes" are probably the most known and have the quality of Anthems. Favorite bluesy songs such as "Oye Cantinero" and "ADO" belong to their Three Souls era, but are included in compilations and newer versions (from live concert recordings) abound.
Todo Sea Por el Rocanrol
El Tri Lyrics

En un charco de sangre
O colgado de una cuerda
Sin aliento y sin aire
O cayendo lentamente
Al fondo de un abismo
Todo despanzurrado
Y haciendo bizcos
En la banqueta
Babeando sangre por la boca
Y con la bragueta abierta
Causando lástimas
A los peatones
Y a toda la bola de golfos
Y mandilones
Y todo por el rock and roll
Todo es por el rock and roll
Saca mi cruz
Y clávame las estacas
Quiero ver el autobús
Que a de llevarme al infierno
Te gustaría verme en la calle
De la amargura
O buscando algo que comer
En el bote de la basura
O pidiendo limosna
En las esquinas
O clavado en la cárcel
Lavando las letrinas
Y todo por el rock and roll
Todo sea por el rock and roll
Todo es por el rock and roll
Todo por el rock and roll
The lyrics of El Tri's "Todo Sea Por el Rocanrol" explore the lengths that a dedicated rocker is willing to go for their passion. The song opens with a graphic image of the singer swimming in a pool of blood or hanging from a noose. However, they don't stop there; the lyrics describe the rocker falling into an abyss or dying on the sidewalk with their pants open, causing discomfort to passersby. The song suggests the idea that the hard and dangerous life of the rocker is the price they pay in exchange for the rock and roll lifestyle.
The song also touches on the socio-economic struggles faced by the rocker. The lyrics describe the singer searching for food in a trash bin or begging for money on the street corner. Even worse, they imagine themselves in jail, cleaning toilets. However, for the singer, it's all worth it because everything they experience is a result of their love for rock and roll. In the end, they would like to see their crucified body and to know that their death was caused by rock and roll.
Overall, "Todo Sea Por el Rocanrol" paints a clear image of the risks and hardships that people are willing to endure for the love of rock and roll.
