Among their greatest hits -after their Three Souls era- "Triste Cancion" (based on Neil Young's "Like a Hurricane"), "Metro Balderas" (originally by Rodrigo Gonzalez), and "Piedras Rodantes" are probably the most known and have the quality of Anthems. Favorite bluesy songs such as "Oye Cantinero" and "ADO" belong to their Three Souls era, but are included in compilations and newer versions (from live concert recordings) abound.

The lyrics of "Triste Canción" describe a love that can only exist in dreams, where a man and a woman, represented respectively as a poem and the moon, come together to create a sad love song. The opening lines suggest that the woman is merely an ideal, a figment of the dreamer's imagination, while the man is a representation of the creative impulse that never quite finds its expression. But in the eternal realm of dreams, the two find each other and join their souls to give life to the bittersweet melody that is the song of their love.
The second stanza of the song further develops the imagery of the man and woman as elemental forces, with the man compared to the vastness of the sea, and the woman to the ethereal beauty of the moon. In the fullness of their passion, they unite in a romantic, dreamlike tryst, as befits the otherworldly quality of the song. The third stanza of lyrics, with its references to gods and sin, conjures up religious and mythological themes that serve to heighten the sense of spiritual intensity that pervades the love story. Finally, the repeated refrain of "triste canción de amor" (sad love song) emphasizes the melancholy quality of the tale, and serves as a poignant reminder of the fleeting nature of all love, even that which exists only in dreams.
