1) Born in Sonora, Mexico and raised in Arizona, Ele has always been influenced by a multitude of sounds. Even though she goes back and forth between mixing platforms, she spent her first 10 years DJing strictly vinyl – seamlessly blending deep house, drum and bass, hip hop, downtempo and much more. With a solid vinyl education and base, she understands the intricacies of sound – how each melody, rhythm and instrument comes together to create a feeling or mood.
In 1999, Deejay Ele gained momentum in the underground house music scene in Arizona and became a resident at several well-known clubs like Batucada and underground warehouse parties such as Red Monkey, Rythm & Form, and Golden . In 2002 Ele took a trip west to sunny San Diego and fell in love with the culture and music scene and decided it was time to make some moves.
2008 marked the DJ’s relocation where she quickly became a house-hold name at weekly and monthly events and earned herself a DJ spot on San Diego’s Jazz88 Illfonix show. Ele joined Illfonix as DJ number 6 in the rotation adding a new level to San Diego’s 8+ year old weekly radio show that linked Bebop to hip hop and spilled into genres of house, hip hop, soul, down tempo drum and bass and spoken word.
Now Ele is one of the most respected DJ’s in San Diego and go-to for party promoters and friends alike who want a good music vibe and with a sense of humor.
Ele currently holds residencies at the popular Art In The Park monthly – which fuses music and art.
Ele has had the opportunity to share the stage with some amazingly talented creators like as Charles Feelgood, Natural Self, Nortec Collective, DJ Z-Trip, Pete Salaz, DJ DRM (Bastard Jazz NYC), DJ Beatnick , Simply Jeff, Def Sound, Nortec Collective, Z-Trip, Sachamo, and the list goes on.
These days you’ll find Ms. Ele spending most of her time in the studio working on production.

I don't want to get no higher it's your lack of ambition well they tell me, that's what it's missing
All the guns out on the western front are quiet now well it's nice to hear the world breath a sigh It's like the colour of your skin you know it doesn't mean a thing nor do the clothes that we're wrapped in it doesn't matter if you're thin and though
I lay awake at night I know your arms will hold me tight and I thank God we got it right here in this city late at night We are each like no other we are unique to our mother we are foals in the stable but we leave home when we're able but we all need someone like the earth needs the sun and our fate will be found in this life in the ground Don't you get it wrong It's like the colour of your skin you know it doesn't mean a thing nor do the clothes that we're wrapped in It doesn't matter if you're thin and though I lay awake at night I know your arms will hold me tight and I thank God we got it right here in this city late at night.
The lyrics of Ele's "At Night" are about the importance of love and connection in a world that often judges people based on superficial qualities like appearance and ambition. The singer of the song expresses a lack of interest in material success or getting high, instead valuing the comfort and security of knowing that someone will hold them tight at night. They reference the end of the western front as a symbol of peace and relief, suggesting that the world can sometimes feel like a war zone with everyone fighting for their own interests.
The song goes on to celebrate the individuality of each person, noting that we are all unique and special in our own way, like foals in a stable. However, despite our individuality, we all need someone else in our lives like the earth needs the sun. The lyrics emphasize that qualities like skin color and body type are irrelevant compared to the love and companionship that we share with others. The phrase "it doesn't matter if you're thin" can be read as a subtle criticism of the unrealistic beauty standards that pervade modern society. Overall, the song is a gentle reminder to prioritize connection and love above external appearances or material success.
