I Lied
Electric Century Lyrics

Through the window
I gently fill my veins
Watching all the doors close
The stars are aligned for me tonight
Something jars my brain
When I close my eyes it goes away
Life without the pain
Without my arms
Around you again
I can't remember
Dreams when I was young
That do not hold
They still don't come
Everything that's weak goes
Through the window
I gently fill my veins
Watching all the doors close
The stars are aligned for me tonight
Something jars my brain
When I close my eyes it goes away
I can't remember
Life without the pain
Without my arms
Around you again
I can't remember
Dreams when I was young
That do not hold
They still don't come
You swore you gave it everything
Sit and watch me glide
Through all the lights that come
The darkness that is life
Just wait here I was told
That all the ghosts of everyone that tried to fly
I can't remember
Life without the pain
Without my arms
Around you again
I can't remember
Dreams when I was young
That do not hold
They still don't come
You swore you gave it everything
Sit and watch me glide
Through all the lights that come
The darkness that is life
In Electric Century's song "I Lied," the lyrics describe a sense of emptiness and pain. The singer appears to be struggling with addiction, as they mention filling their veins with something, and possibly finding relief from whatever that substance might be. They also seem to be unable to escape their pain, as they can't remember life without it or dreams that once brought them joy. The lyrics suggest that the singer's addiction and pain have led them to a dark place, navigating life's darkness and trying to find some glimmer of hope. The line "you swore you gave it everything" could suggest that the singer is either talking to themselves or someone who has witnessed their struggle, possibly a loved one who has tried to help.
The repetition of the lines "I can't remember" emphasize the singer's pain and struggle. They appear to be lost in their addiction and unable to remember what life used to be like before it took hold. The line "everything that's weak goes through the window" could refer to the tendency for people who are struggling with addiction to self-medicate with substances that numb their pain. The stars aligning for them and something jarring their brain could suggest they believe that relief or peace is within reach but ultimately it eludes them.

Molly Kiely I’m proud of him to speak up about his addiction. Look where he’s at now, he has a real pretty wife and 2 amazing children that are so lucky to have him as a dad. This reminds me a lot of mcr since Mikey is in this band lol
