Hold On
Elemeno P Lyrics

The things you didn't say have blown me away
Complications with the phone
No consolation when I'm sitting on the sofa all alone
[Chorus]
So long it was nice to meet you
I'll probably never see you again
It was nice to hold you
It was a roller coaster till the end
Like do do do do do
Do do do do do do
Who's getting over you
Do do do do do
Supernova girl with not so many problems
If it wasn't so crapped up
Maybe I could help you solve them
I don't mean to impose
And I don't want to be rude
But lets be honest dear
You're crapped up in the head
[Chorus: x2]
The lyrics to Elemeno P's song "Hold On" speak of the aftermath of a breakup. The singer explains that they received a letter from their ex-partner, and the things left unsaid in the letter have left them feeling blown away. They mention the complications with the phone, suggesting that it was a difficult breakup with perhaps a lack of communication. In the second verse, the singer describes their ex-partner as a "Supernova girl," implying that they were larger than life and perhaps too hot to handle. The singer expresses their desire to help, but acknowledges that their former partner may be "crapped up in the head."
The chorus of "Hold On" is a bittersweet farewell. The singer acknowledges that it was nice to meet their former partner and hold them, but also accepts that they will most likely never see them again. The phrase "like do do do do do" is used to represent the roller coaster of emotions that went along with the relationship. The final line of the chorus asks, "Who's getting over you?" suggesting that the singer is struggling with moving on.
