Question: you say Elephant Island is claimed by more than one country. Have they ever gone to war over it?

No, I do not believe they have fought over the land because the countries have all signed a treaty called the "Antarctic Treaty", which only allows countries to have a section of Antarctica and islands near it to be used for scientific research, and the countries must use it peacefully without trying to control other countries' land.
