Funeral
Elin Lanto Lyrics

I can read between the lines
“I don’t love you like you do”
Every time that you play dead
Lying naked in my bed
Makes me love to hate you so
I’ll be dancing on your funeral
No matter if you end up in heaven or in hell,
I’ll be dancing on your funeral
Now that love’s been compromised
You have got to pay the price
I just need to let you go
I’m so sick of playing games
They just always end the same
Man I hate to love you so
No matter if you end up in heaven or in hell,
I’ll be dancing on your funeral
No matter if you end up in heaven or in hell,
I’ll be dancing on your funeral
In Elin Lanto's song "Funeral," the lyrics indicate that the singer has had her heart broken by someone who does not feel the same level of love towards her. The lines "I can see it in your eyes, I can read between the lines, 'I don't love you like you do'" suggest that the singer can sense the lack of reciprocated feelings from the other person. This knowledge seems to cause her pain, and she considers their intimacy to be fake or dead ("every time that you play dead, lying naked in my bed"). Despite this, she can't help but continue to love the person, even though she hates herself for it.
The chorus of "Funeral" is harsh and unapologetic in its revenge theme. The singer declares that no matter what happens to the other person, whether they go to heaven or hell, she will be dancing on their funeral. This line suggests that she will be rejoicing over their death and taking satisfaction in their demise. It's a powerful statement, expressing the depth of the singer's anger and betrayal, as well as highlighting the harm that love and heartbreak can cause. Ultimately, "Funeral" is a song about the intoxicating pull of a toxic relationship and the emotional damage it can inflict.
