Comme l'été qui revient
Comme tu reprends ma main
Et comme si de rien
Comme,
comme, une gomme effacée
Comme si tout le passé
Comme le champagne sur nos lèvres
Comme le temps qui se lève
Comme c'est bien
Comme faudrait un millions d'années
Pour pouvoir oublier
Comme si, comme si on faisait comme
Comme une femme et un homme
Comme,
Comme si tout allait bien
Comme si tout le chagrin
S'était noyé au loin
Comme,
Comme fil entre les doigts
Même ces moments-là
Comme-ci, comme-ça
Comme jamais rien ne s'achève
Dans nos têtes pleines de rêves
Comme je viens...
Comme faudrait un millions d'années
Pour pouvoir oublier
Comme si, comme si on faisait comme
Comme une femme et un homme
Comme, Comme,
Comme le champagne sur nos lèvres
Comme le temps qui se lève
Comme c'est bien
(x3)
Comme faudrait un millions d'années
Pour pouvoir oublier
Comme si, comme si on faisait comme
Comme une femme et un homme
In Elisa Tovati's song "Comme," the lyrics convey a sense of nostalgia and longing for a past love. The repetition of the word "comme" creates a rhythmic pattern that emphasizes the singer's desire to relive certain moments. The song starts by comparing the return of summer to the reconnection with a former lover, as if nothing has changed. It implies a sense of familiarity and comfort. The use of the metaphor "comme une gomme effacée" (like an eraser) suggests a desire to forget the past and start over. It portrays the idea that all the pain and mistakes from the past can be erased and left behind.
The lyrics further express the joy and euphoria of being together, symbolized by the imagery of champagne on their lips and the rising of time. The repetition of "comme c'est bien" (how good it is) reinforces the blissful emotions they experience. However, underlying the happiness, there is a sense that it would take millions of years to truly forget and move on from the memories shared. The line "comme si, comme si on faisait comme une femme et un homme" (as if, as if we were acting like a woman and a man) suggests that their connection may not be as genuine as it appears, raising questions about the authenticity of their current relationship.
Overall, "Comme" explores the complicated nature of love, the desire to forget the past, and the uncertainties that come with rekindling a relationship.
