Before entering the charts, Doolittle toured the UK with her band to gain recognition. This later turned into the "Playground Unplugged" tour where she performed at secondary schools Hagley RC High School, The Magna Carta School, The Bewdley School and Sixth Form Centre, Highworth Grammar School and Presdales School.
The first release from Doolittle is a self-titled EP that features four tracks Rollerblades, Moneybox, Police Car and Go Home. This was released on 29 November 2009. Tracks from the EP were remixed by Plastic Little ('Rollerblades'), Sam Young and Jamie xx from The xx ('Money Box'). The EP received radio plays from Rob Da Bank, Nick Grimshaw, Fearne Cotton and Jo Whiley.
Her debut single Skinny Genes was released on 12 April 2010. The song had featured in a television advert for an online retailer. She told BBC's Steve Lamacq the song is "a funny scenario if you didn’t like someone, if they were really annoying, but you had a good time under the sheets." Doolittle's second release is entitled Pack Up and released on 5 July 2010, debuting at #12 on the Official UK Singles Chart on 11 July 2010.
She recorded the song Running For Life which featured on the soundtrack to the film AdULTHOOD. Doolittle was a special guest on Paloma Faith's concert tour which began on 30 October 2010.
Back To Front

And the world was back to front
There was sunshine in the evenin'
And the moon came out for lunch
I wouldn't mind walkin' backwards with you
At least we'd always know where we'd be goin' to
We could talk till we forget how to talk
And we could learn to laugh again
Like when we were children
We could learn to dance again
Like nobody is watchin'
If everyone was gettin' young
There'd be a smile on your face
If all the friends that passed away
Came back to this place
We'd be puttin' down the daisies
Drinkin' milk and feelin' lazy
There's no sense in any senses
What's the use in independence?
We could play of the tears that came
We could walk till we forget how to walk
And cool till we forget anything at all
And we would laugh again
Like when we were children
We could learn to dance again
Like nobody is watchin'
We could learn to look right
Into each others eyes
'Cause we got nothin' to hide
We got nothin' but to laugh again
Like when we were children
Like when we were children
Back to front, front to back
Will you come backwards with me
Backwards with me?
Front to back, back to front
Will you come backwards with me
Backwards with me?
We could learn to laugh again
Like when we were children
We could learn to dance again
Like nobody is watchin'
We could learn to laugh again
Like when we were children
We could learn to smile again
Like nobody is watchin'
Backwards with me
The song Back to Front by Eliza Doolittle talks about a world where everything is different; the sun shines in the evening, the moon comes out for lunch, and the world is upside down. The singer uses this fantasy world as a metaphor for how she feels about her relationship. She suggests that if things were the opposite of what they are, she wouldn't mind so long as she was with someone she loved. She talks about how they could walk backward and talk until they forget how to, but as long as they were together, they'd know where they were going. The singer is proposing a journey with her lover where they can both rediscover the innocence of childhood, unencumbered by the stress and trials of adult life.
The song is a call to simplicity and innocence, a fantasy where the burdens of life are lifted, and we can all live without worry or fear. It suggests that we should take the time to remember what it was like to be children, to play, to dance, to laugh, and to be carefree. Ultimately, the song is a reminder that life doesn't have to be so complicated, and that with the right person, we can all find joy in even the most difficult of circumstances.
