Before entering the charts, Doolittle toured the UK with her band to gain recognition. This later turned into the "Playground Unplugged" tour where she performed at secondary schools Hagley RC High School, The Magna Carta School, The Bewdley School and Sixth Form Centre, Highworth Grammar School and Presdales School.
The first release from Doolittle is a self-titled EP that features four tracks Rollerblades, Moneybox, Police Car and Go Home. This was released on 29 November 2009. Tracks from the EP were remixed by Plastic Little ('Rollerblades'), Sam Young and Jamie xx from The xx ('Money Box'). The EP received radio plays from Rob Da Bank, Nick Grimshaw, Fearne Cotton and Jo Whiley.
Her debut single Skinny Genes was released on 12 April 2010. The song had featured in a television advert for an online retailer. She told BBC's Steve Lamacq the song is "a funny scenario if you didn’t like someone, if they were really annoying, but you had a good time under the sheets." Doolittle's second release is entitled Pack Up and released on 5 July 2010, debuting at #12 on the Official UK Singles Chart on 11 July 2010.
She recorded the song Running For Life which featured on the soundtrack to the film AdULTHOOD. Doolittle was a special guest on Paloma Faith's concert tour which began on 30 October 2010.

To dinner tonight
We can grow vegetables
Underneath our skylight
Clickin' these downloads
Everyday has it's price
We can lounge on our couch
So take your Dollar, your Yen
Those Euros I can't spend
I won't get down with no Pounds
Never need to leave this house
Don't need your moneybox
'Cause I got lots and lots
Of what I need right here
Right here with you, my dear
Don't need a cash machine
To make our days happy
So do me a favor
Don't jingle your change sir
Happy for me, happy for you
Lovey, lovey, lovey-love
Instead of goin'
To the movies tonight
There's no shame in us playin'
Best of that Sega Mega Drive
Hand me your trousers
You got holes in your knees
It's no fuss, patch them up
Forget about that shoppin' spree
So take your Dollar, your Francs
Your Rupees, your Peso
I won't get down with no Pounds
Never need to leave this house
Don't need your moneybox
'Cause I got lots and lots
Of what I need right here
Right here with you, my dear
I know I don't need the cash machine
To make our days happy
Happy for me, happy for you
Lovey, lovey, lovey-love
Don't have your moneybox
It's not much of a loss
All that dough just goes to waste
'Cause you're worth more anyway
Don't need to travel
'Round London tonight
We can play Monopoly
Buy Mayfair in our own time
So take your Dollar, your Baht
I couldn't give a penny
That's enough, give it out
Never need to leave this house
Don't need your moneybox
'Cause I got lots and lots
Of what I need right here
Right here with you, I know
I know I don't need the cash machine
To make our days happy
Happy for me, happy for you
Lovey, lovey, lovey-love
Don't need your moneybox
'Cause I got lots and lots
Of what I need right here
Right here with you, I know
I know I don't need the cash machine
To make our days happy
Happy for me, happy for you
Lovey, lovey, lovey-love
Lovey, lovey, lovey-love
Lovey, lovey, lovey-love
Lovey, lovey, lovey-love
Eliza Doolittle's "Moneybox" song advocates for a pared-down lifestyle, where the couple can find happiness without needing to spend money outside their home. The lyrics suggest a preference for simplicity and a focus on enjoying each other's company without indulging in the excesses of consumer culture. The lyrics talk about growing vegetables under the skylight instead of going out to dinner or playing Sega Mega Drive instead of going to the movies. The song also emphasizes the value of personal relationships over material possessions, as evidenced by the line "all that dough just goes to waste, cause you're worth more anyway."
The song seems to contrast with the aspirations of the society today, where people are more focused on amassing wealth and possessions. It depicts contentment and satisfaction with life's basic necessities and valuing the moments spent with loved ones. The lyrics advise that instead of spending so much effort on earning money and accumulating expensive possessions, one can be satisfied with just being in the presence of those they love and cherish.
