Red
Elizabeth Moen Lyrics

I am not blind to all your red flags
But you wear them
Oh you wear them so well
And I am not blind to all your little lies
But you wear them
Oh you wear them so well

So smear those lies across your lips
They′re so perfect
And drape those red flags
Around your perfect body 'cause

Red, red is your color, boy
Did anybody ever tell you that?
Red, red is your color, boy
Did anybody ever tell you that?
′Cause you've got me seeing red
'Cause I′m mad at myself for loving you

I am not naïve
I tend to learn the hard way sometimes
I am not deceived
I can see between all your pretty lies

So smear those lies across your lips
They′re so perfect
And drape those red flags
Around your perfect body 'cause

Red, red is your color, boy
Did anybody ever tell you that?
Red, red is your color, boy
Did anybody ever tell you that?
′Cause you've got me seeing red
′Cause I'm mad at myself for loving you

Seeing red, I′m seeing red
Seeing red, I'm seeing red
Seeing red, I'm seeing red

Red, red is your color, boy
Did anybody ever tell you that?
Red, red is your color, boy
Did anybody ever tell you that?
′Cause you′ve got me seeing red
'Cause I′m mad at myself for loving you

Red, red is your color, boy
Did anybody ever tell you that?
Red, red is your color, boy
Did anybody ever tell you that?

'Cause you′ve got me seeing red
'Cause I′m mad at myself for loving you

Overall Meaning

In this song, Elizabeth Moen is addressing a lover who has been giving her warning signs of trouble- "red flags." She acknowledges that she is not "blind" to all of the times they have lied to her, but despite this, she has fallen deeply in love with them. She laments this fact, saying that she is "mad at myself for loving you." Despite her hurt and frustration, she can't help but acknowledge the attractiveness of her lover, both physically and through their actions: "you wear them (the red flags and lies) so well."

The repeated metaphor of "seeing red" represents the anger and passion that the singer feels towards this lover. She is angry at herself for falling for someone who has caused her so much pain, but can't help feeling overwhelmed with emotion when she sees them- "you've got me seeing red." The final lines of the song repeat the phrase "red is your color, boy" as a way of emphasizing how the red flags and lies that the lover possesses are so integral to their identity.

The lyrics in this song are a commentary on the difficulties of relationships and how challenging it can be to walk away from someone that you love deeply, even when it may not be the most healthy or safe choice for you.

haydenkayne sad lonely people.

Marietta Corsini

There's a lot of sad, bitter people on the internet. Beautiful things like this tend to remind them of just how ugly they feel.

I just tried the thumbs down button to confirm if it only works with robots and not humans; I just confirmed that they people who don't have feel at all.
