Mesa sto domatio girna
Ta skotadia 'desan ti psihi mu
Tora pu den ise puthena
Oti vro mprosta mu katastrefo
Oti se thimizi to miso
Anthropo de thelo pia na vlepo
Ki olo afinome paradinome
S' akolutho ki as prohoro se lathos dromo
Ki olo afinome paradinome
Klino ta matia mu ke vlepo esena mono
Kani psihra ki eho ksepagiasi
To ksimeroma pali argi
I foni mu de mpori na ftasi
Sti diki su makrini psihi
Oti vro mprosta mu katastrefo
Oti se thimizi to miso
Anthropo de thelo pia na vlepo
Me ton eafto mu sizito
Ki olo afinome paradinome
S' akolutho ki as prohoro se lathos dromo
Ki olo afinome paradinome
Klino ta matia mu ke vlepo esena mono
The first verse of Kokkinou's song "Paradinome" suggests that the singer is dealing with a personal crisis. She says that she has a nightmarish feeling in her body, which is intensified when she is alone in her room, and that her soul is becoming overshadowed by darkness. The second verse shows that the singer is struggling to forget her lover and move on. Despite being aware that her partner is not right for her, the singer is still attached to them and cannot bring herself to let go.
The chorus ("Ki olo afinome paradinome") of the song talks about the singer's internal struggle. She says that she is willing to give up everything for the sake of her lover, even if that means following them down the wrong path. The repetition of "paradinome" suggests that the singer is becoming more and more resigned to her fate.
Overall, the song is a powerful and emotionally charged portrayal of a difficult and painful personal experience, one that many listeners can identify with on some level. Kokkinou's passionate performance, combined with the evocative lyrics and haunting melody, make "Paradinome" a standout track in the world of Greek pop music.
