You're No Good
Ellie Campbell Lyrics

Say it again
Say it again
No no
Say it again
Say it again
Say it again
Say it again
Feelin better
Now that we're through
Feelin better
Cause I'm over you

I've learned my lesson, it left a scar
And now I see how you really are

You're no good, you're no good
You're no good, oh baby you're no good
(I'm gonna say it again)
You're no good, you're no good
You're no good, oh baby you're no good

Say it again
Say it again

Broke a heart
That's gentle and true
I left a boy
For someone like you

I begged his forgiveness on bended knee
But I wouldn't blame him if he said to me

You're no good, is no good
Is no good, oh baby is no good
(I'm gonna say it again)
Is no good, is no good
Is no good, oh baby is no good

No good
Say it again
Say it again
Say it again
Say it again

If he'll have me we'll start anew
It'll be easy forgetting you

You're no good, you're no good
You're no good, oh baby you're no good
(I'm gonna say it aloud)
You're no good, you're no good
You're no good, oh baby you're no good

Say it again
Say it again

I'm warning you now baby
And I'm going away
Forget about you baby
I'm a-leaving to stay

I'm no good, you're no good
You're no good, oh baby you're no good

Say it again
Say it again

You're no good, you're no good
You're no good, oh baby you're no good
(I'm gonna say it again)
You're no good, you're no good
You're no good, oh baby you're no good

Say it again
Say it again
You're no good, you're no good
You're no good

Say it again
Say it again
No good
You're no good
You're no good, you're no good
You're no good, oh baby you're no good
Say it again
Say it again

Say it again

I really feel for Ellie, she was completely messed around by pwl/jive, her first single was hardly promoted and stalled just outside the top 40, her second single however was much more successful after a string of tv performances, and after a performances on cd:UK the track charted at #26 but quickly fell out. Her third single was due to be “you’re not good” and even though a video was shot and shown on tv for some reason the label cancelled the release.
Most people thought Ellie had been dropped and had disappeared however she announced the release of comeback single “don’t want you back” over a year later (a year and a half later in the UK) which was a slick American sounding pop track, she appeared on a handful of less known tv shows being interviewed about her hiatus and the single although no performances (from what I can remember) were done, because of this and little to no radio play and much promo done the track just scrapped into the top 50 and feel out the top 100 the next week.

Strangely despite the low chart position of “don’t want you back” and no fourth single announced her label still released the album later that year in Europe but not until 8 months later (June 2001) in the UK. The album didn’t chart and Ellie was dropped and never to be heard or seen again :(

I know her through her promotion concert in Indonesia. So I thought her label did ok and I heard the first single Don't want you back topped on MTV chart
