Elliphant's song "In the Jungle" is an exploration of returning to one's roots and embracing one's primal instincts. The lyrics express a desire to leave behind the complexities of modern life and return to a simpler, more natural existence. The repetition of the phrase "back to basic" reinforces this theme and suggests a deep longing for a connection to the natural world.
The jungle serves as a powerful symbol throughout the song, representing both the wildness of nature and the untamed parts of ourselves that we often suppress in order to conform to societal norms. By returning to the jungle, the singer is seeking to shed these constraints and rediscover their true, unbridled identity.
The use of the word "sick" also adds a layer of urgency and desperation to the lyrics, suggesting that the singer feels trapped and suffocated by their current way of life. The repeated phrase "cashing life in" further reinforces this sense of disillusionment and suggests a desire to break free from the monotony and routine of modern existence.
Overall, "In the Jungle" is a powerful anthem for anyone who has ever felt out of touch with their natural instincts and longed for a simpler, more authentic way of life.
