1. Elsa is a shoegaze-y indie rock band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Their membership includes Jonathan Rogers, Jesse Mirsky, Matthew Goldman, Angie Wong and Mike Aber. They recently released a new EP titled The Never Come Down on One Big Silence Records.
2. Elsa is a late-sixties era ye-ye girl. Strongly influenced by Bob Dylan, she gravitated toward the folk-rock genre, her song lyrics strongly reflecting typical beat generation themes and protest song structure.
3. Elsa Lunghini is a nineties-era chanteuse. She is the daughter of George Lunghini (actor, photographer and song writer) and of Christiane Jobert (painter and also sister of actress Marlène Jobert), she has Italian origins by her father and his grandfather Luigi (Luigi is also Elsa’s son first name). Elsa performed her first role in a movie at 7 years old, in the Claude Miller movie Garde à vue in 1979 (also starring Romy Schneider).
Elsa was the youngest artist to be in main program of the Olympia (Paris), at 17 years old, in October 1990 as well as the youngest artist to have a Number 1 Hit at the Top 50, in France. At 13 years old, in 1986, she remained # 1 for 9 weeks, with the song T'en va pas (soundtrack of the movie La femme de ma vie).
After several albums and several movies appearances, she released the great album De lave et de sève, in March 2004. From September 20 to 24, 2004, Elsa gave shows in Paris at the Européen. A live DVD and a live CD, recorded at these concerts, are available, since April 10th 2006.
Elsa is also involved in several caritative causes. She annually takes part to the Tour of the Resto du coeur as long as other causes, like Sol En Si.
She also starred in two TV movies,: La mort est rousse, in 2002 and Trois jours en juin in 2004 and is now also starring in TV ads for Danone yogourt.
She lives in Paris and, since 1999, she is the fiancée of the football (soccer) World Champion Bixente Lizarazu. They met to a Restos du Coeur concert, in which they were both taking part and together, they are also spokespersons of the association Bout de vie, which is assisting handicapped people.
4. Elsa is a Swedish underground rapper who released her debut EP "Satisfaction (PrettyUgly)" during 2007 on the Swedish label "Boiling Pandas". Elsa, who began as a pop singer, recorded her first track by the age of 13. But it wasn't until she turned 16 that she began to take her music seriously. Since then she has developed an interesting style and a crazy flow.

"T'en va pas" is a heartbreaking song about a daughter trying to stop her father from leaving. She pleads with him not to go, reminding him of his love for this woman who he is abandoning them for. She is scared of the night, scared that her father is leaving her forever, that they will never go to the movies together again. The daughter asks where he is going, and begs him not to do something stupid. As the song progresses, the daughter becomes more and more desperate, insisting that her father will come back one day. The song ends with her begging him to think about her, and telling him that he will never take her to the USA.
The lyrics are touching and emotional, conveying the desperation of the daughter who is pleading with her father not to leave. The repetition of "nuit," or night, emphasizes her fear and loneliness without her father. The daughter recognizes that her father loves this new woman, but she still hopes that he will choose to stay with them. She is scared that he will do something reckless and hurt himself, and begs him not to.

Moi aussij j'ai eu un père alcolique

Cette chanson parle d'un père alcoolique qui sort le soir et délaisse sa famille (c'était le sujet du film dont elle est tirée). Mais elle nous a tellement touchés que chacun y trouve un lien avec son histoire familiale (divorce des parents, décès etc.). Vraiment un titre fort qui est un classique absolu des années 80. L'innocence et la force avec lesquelles Elsa a chanté cette chanson laissent une émotion durable, même plus de 30 ans après.

Vous êtes sans doute la seule personne qui a compris cette chanson car beaucoup de monde avait imaginé que c'était le papa d elsa qui est parti quand telle était ados moi même j'avais pensé que les parents étaient divorcée

C'était une autre époque, une autre dimension. J'ai 40 ans et j'ai du mal avec ce Monde superficiel. Mais oui je suis totalement d'accord avec vous. Cette chanson me donne beaucoup d'émotions à chaque fois 😢
