Always a treat -- I never get tired of this tune!!! -- Or Elvis Costello for that matter!
bluebear1985
This song is probably best known for the time he performed it on "Saturday Night Live" in the US. During that performance in 1977, his band was a last minute replacement for The Sex Pistols, who weren't able to get into the country in time. During that performance, Elvis started to play "Less Than Zero", then abruptly stopped after only a few seconds, then apologized saying "I'm sorry, ladies and gentlemen, but there's no reason to do this song here", after which they played "Radio Radio". The incident had him banned from the show, a ban which has since been lifted. They made light of the incident on SNL's 25th anniversary show in 1999, when he "interrupted" The Beastie Boys' performances of "Sabotage", after which they played "Radio Radio" together.

Noticed how Elvis's guitar gets louder in this song as the years go by...check out the original recording to see what I mean.

The band were 1977 to mid 1979.
Look at videos as EC gets thinner with more sallow cheeks.

Bruce (bass) fell out with Elvis decades ago so only 2/3rds of one of rocks greatest bands.
