Who Can Be Loved In This World?
Elvis Depressedly Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

who can be loved in this world?
i'll be your girl you'll be my boy
i'll be your boy you'll be my girl
who can be loved in this world?

when you talk drunk shit to me
it makes me feel like i am free
to fall into you easily
and you can fall right into me

so you can be loved in this world
i'll be your girl you'll be my boy
i'll be your boy you'll be my girl
so you can be loved in this world

let me hold on to your heart
while you heal your mind and i'll
always be here when you need
you are worth the waiting

so i can be loved in this world
i'll be your girl you'll be my boy
i'll be your boy you'll be my girl
so i can be loved in this world
so you can be loved in this world
so we can be loved in this world

who can be loved in this world?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Elvis Depressedly's song "Who Can Be Loved In This World?" convey a sense of desperation and longing for love and connection in a difficult and often cruel world. The repeated question "who can be loved in this world?" suggests a sense of hopelessness and the feeling that perhaps nobody can truly be loved or accepted in a world where it's easy to feel isolated and disconnected.

Despite this, the song offers a glimmer of hope through the promise of love and companionship. The lines "i'll be your girl you'll be my boy" and "let me hold on to your heart while you heal your mind" suggest a desire to create a deep and meaningful connection with someone who is struggling and needs support. The mention of talking "drunk shit" indicates a level of vulnerability and honesty in communication that is often difficult to achieve in more sober interactions.

Overall, the song captures the conflicting feelings of despair and hope that come with trying to navigate relationships and find connection in a world that can be harsh and unforgiving.

This is one of my favourite songs. Elvis depressedly feels like the soundtrack to a never ending summer, where the days blend into each other and the only sounds are crickets, the wind in the leaves and the conversation of you and your friend

@OtterThanMost

Yeah. It can feel like the chillest day, in the summer, sitting in a field with your friends... or it can feel like walking in the woods at night, drunk and crying over your sorry life, alone because you don’t want anyone to see

@librasynergies2835

I agree! I fell in love this past summer & this was a soundtrack to that aghh

@atamanwielkopolski1576

Friends, I wish I had friends.

It's so weird that I remember seeing Coma Cinema playing in my apartment 11 years ago. And to come back after years of being homeless, joining the army, getting married, getting divorced, going to Korea.. etc.

I come back and find all this wonderful music.

Thank you Mat. The mini concert I remember was amazing. My parents are on fire. And the people I know have finally gotten paid.

@domo6373
