Reconsider Baby
Elvis Presley Lyrics
Well so long
Oh how I hate to see you go
Yes so long
Oh how I hate to see you go
Well the way that I will miss you
I guess you'll never know
We've been together so long
To have to separate this way
We've been together so long
Well I'm gonna let you go ahead on baby
But let you come back home some day
Play the blues boys, play the blues
One more time
You said you once had loved me
But now I guess you've changed your mind
You said you once had loved me
But now I guess you've changed your mind
Why don't you reconsider baby
Give yourself just a little more time

This has to be the most classic blues song ever recorded. Elvis' vocals and the lyrics and the tempo and the great sax instrumental break captures the essence of what a blues song should sound like. Elvis was the greatest singer and entertainer.

@Ricky MacPhail Oh wow, I didn't know this classic Blues song was completed in one take. That is fantastic. These were real professionals, from Elvis to the musicians. Thank you for sharing that.

@michael bodnar agree- Scotty Moore (and DJ Fontana) over-rated
Joseph Samuel
@mikemasterton totally agree, Elvis could also sing gospel like no other-and ballads and rock n roll and the list goes on
poetgb
@Joseph Samuel I agree that this song and performance is the epitome of Blues.

Elvis was Far more than the greatest entertainer of the 20th Century. He not only changed the rules - he made them. Presley was a force that will never be replicated.
