They Remind Me Too Much of You
Elvis Presley Lyrics

Take away, the scent of flowers
Cover up, the sky of blue
Close my ears to tender love songs
They remind me too much of you

Hide young lovers warm embraces
Keep stars and moonlight from my view
Let me forget, there are such places
They remind me too much of you
Must I evermore be haunted?
Day after day, my whole life through
By the memory of each moment
That I spent alone with you

If these lovely things don't hurt you
Our love just wasn't meant to be
But please come back to me, my darling

If they remind you, too much of me

@Norma Gray McDonald please don’t stop loving me. Gently. Starting today.

I really think these songs define Elvis, musically. not Hound Dog, or Burning Love. His voice was best during this era, still had the range but a little more developed voice. And this is coming from someone who loves Harbor Lights and That’s Alright.

I love each era of Elvis. It sucks his best years were wasted cuz of his manager.
If you haven’t Please check out the song “If I Loved You.” The lyrics “I let my golden chances pass me by.” Just hit home! The way he sings that song is amazing.

I saw a video like “musicians on Elvis” and some, like the beatles, seemed to only like early 50s Elvis.

Songs like Long Tall Sally, Rip It Up, he’s not even singing. Another interview with from earlier days said they thought “Love Me” was the best sounding compared to Hound Dog where he’s basically yelling. It makes me think there’s two types of music. Music with a heart and music without. This song right here hits the heart.

Seen a lot of people say they don’t like these Elvis songs. The crooning ones. Are you kidding? These are so good.

Anything that’s part of you is another good one
