Would not work. Mariah Carey is in her own world. She can't even sound good sometimes live. Few years back on New Year's Eve she was lip singing she couldn't sing live for some reason she got trashed buy a lot of people. The reason why a living John sing along with Elvis The legend of All times is because Olivia Newton-John is unique as well. She can control her vocal range, it's obvious listen to the vocals on these two singing this song I never heard it before. And Olivia Newton John went to Elvis's concert twice. She went to see him perform two times and the last time she went was in Las Vegas she wanted to meet Elvis. But there was an emergency of some sort that he had to leave and he never got a chance to meet her nor did she get a chance to meet him. She said that was pretty sad she really wanted to meet the king of rock and roll. Those two would have got along very good around those times

Doesn't sound like it's mixed properly. Elvis's voice is too much in the front and Olivia ' s voice too much in the back

Elvis was the original artist here. They added her voice decades later. So naturally she would be augmenting his sound not taking over.

@Andrew V. Odom I think that person was talking about the mixing. Of course she would be singing behind him but the sound of the music is overpowering her and if this was mixed properly it would not be like that. It was called Christmas duets so it is supposed to be duet not background. There are other songs I've heard where modern singers were put with Elvis and you can hear them without it being overpowering but more like the way a duet would sound. On this entire album with other artists, some have solo parts and then sing with him but all of them end up sounding like there is an Elvis record playing and they are just singing along with it instead of it mixed to sound like they are singing together.

@Eliana Carvalhok1 but he never sang with someone else on his records or in his concerts. Just the records with the songs from the movies. He couldn't refuse to sing with Sinatra because it was his welcome back show for Elvis
