El Mar
Ely Guerra Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Para que se me aligere este dolor
Posiblemente pueda ser feliz
O puede ser que no
Si en la cabeza suelo competir
Con miedos y fragilidad
Quizá pudiera escapar al fin
Yo quiero ser la tierra
Yo quiero ser el mar
Yo quiero en tus ojos
Perderme hasta el final
Yo quiero ser la tierra
Yo quiero ser el mar
Yo quiero en tus ojos
Perderme hasta el final
Y ahí quedarme para siempre amor
Y ahí quedarme para siempre amor
Y ahí quedarme para siempre amor
The lyrics to Ely Guerra's song "El Mar" explore the desire for escape and the search for happiness, while also grappling with the fear and fragility that often hold us back. The singer considers whether releasing some of the air from their lungs would alleviate their pain and potentially lead to lasting happiness, or if it would not make a difference at all. They acknowledge the struggles that arise in their mind, and the possibility of finding relief through devising a plan. However, the ultimate goal seems to be to lose oneself in the eyes of a loved one, becoming one with the earth and the sea, and finding a sense of eternal love.
The theme of escape and the search for happiness is a common thread woven throughout "El Mar." The singer recognizes the internal struggles they face, but ultimately believes that there is a way to overcome them and find peace. The repetition of the desire to be the earth and the sea, and to lose oneself in love, emphasizes the longing for a sense of belonging and harmony with the world. The lyrics can be interpreted as an expression of a universal human experience, one that is both deeply personal yet relatable to others.
