Upon the band's formation, they released one extended play (EP) in 2007, titled This Is Your Way Out, and shortly after, the group underwent significant line-up and sound changes, dropping their metalcore influence and leaning towards a more rock sound. The band released their debut studio album, Relativity (2008), which featured vocalist Jonny Craig and rhythm guitarist Jonas Ladekjaer. Their second studio album, Emarosa, was released in June 2010, to critical acclaim, and was Craig's final album with the group.
Following Craig's departure, the band toured briefly with a fill-in vocalist before entering a period of inactivity. Eventually, Craig was formally replaced by Walden. Emarosa then released their third studio album, Versus, on September 9, 2014, which peaked at No. 61 in the Billboard 200. The band signed to Hopeless Records and released their fourth and fifth studio albums, 131 (2016) and Peach Club (2019). A sixth, Sting, is set for release in January 2023.

A City Called Coma
Emarosa Lyrics

The wind is not on our side
Pull yourself together it's not much further
From the top on high smoke is finding its way to the sky
Not a place I want to be, not a place I want to be
She sits pale skinned in a fire light
One message to change her life forever.
He climbs over the top no breath no breath
In his weak sick lungs she starts to run to the edge
At last it's over.
Cling to each rock
The wind is not on our side.
She lays beside him his eyes so weak he can't even make her out
But his body feels her all around him
She whispers something in his ear
That he takes to the grave
Hours pass before they reach the top,
Before they reach the top, before.
She's waiting.
The lyrics to Emarosa's song "A City Called Coma" convey a sense of struggle and perseverance amidst difficult circumstances. The opening lines, "Cling to each rock, The wind is not on our side, Pull yourself together it's not much further," suggest a challenging journey, both physically and emotionally. The singer encourages themselves or someone else to gather their strength and continue, despite the unfavorable conditions they face.
The lines "From the top on high smoke is finding its way to the sky, Not a place I want to be, not a place I want to be" give a glimpse of a dangerous or undesirable situation awaiting them. There is a sense of urgency and aversion to reaching this place. The mention of a person sitting "pale skinned in a fire light" adds a haunting imagery, perhaps symbolizing vulnerability or facing imminent danger.
The lyrics then shift to a narrative perspective, with a sense of resolution or finality. "One message to change her mind, One message to change her life forever" introduces a pivotal moment where someone receives a life-altering message. The subsequent lines depict a person climbing to the top while struggling for breath, and a woman running towards an edge, implying a desperate escape from a difficult situation. The phrase "At last it's over" implies a sense of relief or the end of a challenging journey.
The closing lines of the song, "She lays beside him, his eyes so weak he can't even make her out, But his body feels her all around him, She whispers something in his ear, That he takes to the grave, Hours pass before they reach the top, She's waiting," introduce a poignant scene of intimacy and connection. Despite physical limitations, the singer finds solace in the presence of another person. The mention of taking something whispered in the ear to the grave suggests the depth of their bond and the enduring impact of their connection. The sense of anticipation and waiting at the end leaves the listener with a feeling of suspense and curiosity.

Just a small recommendation as just a nice person, ya know?
"When writing the lyrics you could add '/' 👈 that before and after you type in the chorus and/or a phrase that repeats itself in the song.
Example: The wind is ///not on our side///.
You notice how I added 3 dashes '/' before and after I typed that? Well that lets me, I mean Other People know that it's repeating 3times in the song, and you won't have to type the same thing over and over again. Which prevents many of us who are singing along while reading lyrics in front of a 'crush', who they've told, 'Thats my favorite song!' just cuz! Don't judge! Anyway causing them to mess up the song and pass blame to the singer of course.👌😉
Sorry but I felt the need to make you aware of this issue.
(And yes that just happened to me so of course I had to blame it on someone other than myself,(Because I shouldn't have lied in the first place) and yeah that's how my comment came to be!
I mean no disrespect! 🙌

This song is friggin' amazing!
But it annoys the ever-living hell outta me that it's not called I Still Feel Her Pt. 2 lol :(

@Captain Guts i just don't like how it interrupts with the continuity lol - the other 3 songs could have just as easily not been called I Still Feel Her parts 3-5🙂
Captain Guts
It really should read the other way. Part 1 is called "I Still Feel Her" and Part 2 is called "A City Called Coma"
Why the fuck am I commenting on a 8 year old comment
