So Many Stars
Emilie-Claire Barlow Lyrics

So many dreams, which one is mine?
One must be right for me
Which dream of all the dreams
When there's a dream for every star
And there are oh so many stars, so many stars
So many songs, which one is mine?
One must be right for me
Which song of all the songs
When there's a song for every star
And there are oh so many stars, so many stars
Along the countless days, the endless nights
That I have searched so many eyes
So many hearts, so many smiles
Which one to choose, which way to go?
How can I tell, how will I know out of
Oh, so many stars, so many stars?
Along the countless days, the endless nights
That I have searched so many eyes
So many hearts, so many smiles
Which one to choose, which way to go?
How can I tell, how will I know out of
Oh, so many stars, so many stars?
So many stars, so many stars, so many stars
The lyrics to Emilie-Claire Barlow's song "So Many Stars" convey a sense of overwhelming possibility and indecision. The singer is faced with numerous dreams and songs, each one vying for attention amongst the endless array of stars and wind. The notion of a dream or song for each star emphasizes the vastness and infinite nature of the world, and the weight of the singer's choice in navigating it. The imagery of searching through countless eyes, hearts, and smiles adds to this sense of uncertainty, as the singer attempts to piece together a cohesive path amidst the chaos.
At its core, "So Many Stars" can be seen as a song about the human desire for direction and purpose in life. It's easy to feel lost amidst the sheer number of possibilities out there, but ultimately a decision must be made. The repetition of the phrase "so many stars" throughout the song underscores the sense of abundance and richness of experience available to us, while also highlighting the challenge of choosing just one path out of countless options.
Overall, "So Many Stars" is a beautiful and poignant meditation on the complexities of life and the difficulty of making choices. The dreamy, expansive quality of the music matches the lyrical content perfectly, creating a sense of wonder and possibility that captures the essence of the human experience.
