You got something for me
Something you call love
But confess
You've been messing
Where you shouldn't have been messing
And now someone else
These boots were made for walking
And that's just what they'll do
One of these days these boots
Are gonna walk all over you
Well, you keep lying
When you ought to be truthing
And you keep losing
When you oughta hot bet
Oh, you keep saming
When you ought to be changing
Now what's right is right
And you ain't been right yet
These boots were made for walking
And that's just what they'll do
One of these days these boots
Are gonna walk right over you
You keep playing
Where you shouldn't be playing
And you keep thinking
That you'll never get burned - ha!
Well, I just found me
A brand new box of matches
And what he knows
You ain't had time to learn
These boots were made for walking
And that's just what they'll do
One of these days these boots
Are gonna walk all over you
They're gonna walk right over you
Are you ready, boots
Are you ready, boots
Are you ready, boots
Are you ready, boots
Ooh, start walking
You keep saying
You got something for me
Something you call love
But confess
Confessing you've been messing
Where you shouldn't have been a-messing
And now someone else
Is getting all your best
These boots were made for walking
And that's just what they'll do
One of these days these boots
Are gonna walk all over you
They're gonna walk all over you
Are you ready, boots
Are you ready, boots
They're gonna walk right over you
The song "These Boots Were Made For Walkin'" by Emilie-Claire Barlow is a cover of the original song released by Nancy Sinatra in 1966. The song is about a woman who is tired of her lover's lies and cheating behavior. In the opening lines, the woman confronts her lover, saying that he claims to have something called love, but he has been unfaithful. She warns him that someone else is getting the best of him now. She then goes on to say that her boots were made for walking, and she will use them to walk all over him one day.
The lyrics suggest that the woman has had enough of her lover's games and is ready to move on. She is tired of him lying and not being truthful, and she tells him that he has not been right yet. She accuses him of playing where he shouldn't be playing and thinking he will never get burned. She then reveals that she has found a brand new box of matches, and the man hasn't had time to learn what she can do.
The chorus repeats that her boots were made for walking and that one day, they will walk all over him. The instrumental part of the song adds a playful tone to the song, giving it a sassy feel. The lyrics suggest that the woman is strong and independent and is not afraid to walk away from her lover.
