Emily Bindiger Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I will tell you 'bout the sun
You are here, no escape
From my visions of the world
You will cry all alone
But it does not mean a thing to me
Knowing the song I will sing
Come to me, I will tell
'bout the secret of the sun
It's in you, not in me
But it does not mean a thing to you
The sun is in your eyes
The sun is in your ears
I hope you see the sun
Someday in the darkness
The sun is in your eyes
The sun is in your ears
But you can't see the sun
Ever in the darkness
It does not much matter to me
The lyrics in Emily Bindiger's song "Aura" speak to the idea that despite being surrounded by darkness and negativity, there is still light and positivity to be found in the world. The singer offers comfort to someone who is struggling, telling them about the sun and how it is always present even when they cannot see it. They acknowledge the pain and sadness the other person is feeling, but also emphasize that their own emotions are not affected by it.
The repetition of the lines "It does not mean a thing to me" and "But it does not mean a thing to you" suggest a divide between the singer and the person they are addressing. The singer seems to have a deep understanding of the power and beauty of the sun, while the other person is still in the dark. However, the singer is willing to share their knowledge and offer hope to the other person, even though they may not fully comprehend it yet.
Overall, "Aura" is a song about the resilience of the human spirit and the power of hope even in the darkest times. It is a reminder that the sun is always shining, even if we cannot always see it.
