All the songs she writes come straight from her heart, she wants people to feel the way that she felt in different moments of her life. She hopes that from her music, people will know that God is a God of love. Her heart is to see people set free from lies, hate, pain, hurt, brokenness, and sin. She wants to see people fall more in love with Jesus and wants them to be inspired by her music to write their own, and release the sound that only they have.
Emily is also currently a missionary with the organization "Youth With A Mission", she works with different schools that typically last 6 months. For the first 3 months they are located in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii where they have in depth training, and one-on-one discipleship training time with Emily. The second 3 months, which is called an "Outreach", is to all different places like Asia, Africa, South America, North America, etc. What they do on outreach varies according to what place in the world they go to and the needs in that city or country.
Emily has been a missionary since she was 15 years old (she is currently 19 years old). She went to Cambodia for three months when she was 15 and has been in love with missions work ever since. Her music is the way she brings in financial support for her to be in missions. Because Youth With a Mission is a full-time job (40+ hours a week), Emily cannot have another job on top of her missions work. Everyone missionary with Youth With A Mission is an unpaid volunteer (even all the way up to the founders, leaders, etc.,). Even though this is not always the easiest, and sometimes it seems as though money won't come in, Emily would not change anything about her life, she trusts The Lord with everything, and that is the best place to be.
Before Emily was a missionary she lived in Kansas City, Missouri (USA) with her Mom (Donna), Dad (Tom), and three siblings (Issac, Jacob, and Elisabeth.) She and her family worked with the International House of Prayer there in KC, MO for seven years. It was during this time in Kansas City that Emily really fell in love with music. She began writing songs at the age of 11 years old, and has not stopped since.
Emily has a heart that is purely for The Lord, though she has ups and downs just like everyone else she still knows that her heart always belongs to the Lord.
