Empathy Test released a double A-side single, Demons | Seeing Stars on September the 9th, 2016, which featured featured remixes by Sidewalks And Skeletons and MNYNMS, before embarking on a European tour on 16th September. Empathy Test recruited live drummer Christina Lopez and keyboard player Jacob Ferguson Lobo to accompanying Isaac on the tour. They continued to perform with Isaac until April 2017, when Jacob was replaced by Sam Winter-Quick. The band then released another single, By My Side with b-side Vampire Town and remixes by New Portals and Papertwin on February 17th, 2017. A third single, Bare My Soul was released 21st April, 2017, to coincide with a second European tour.
Empathy Test are currently crowd funding two debut albums plus a final single via PledgeMusic: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/empathy-test-album/. They are slated for release on 17th November. The first album, Losing Touch, will feature all the original 2014 EP tracks plus Demons and two previously unreleased tracks, Siamese and Sleep. Safe From Harm will feature all the singles (minus Demons) plus new tracks Safe From Harm, All It Takes, Trampoline, Everything Will Work Out and Burroughs & Bukowski. The band previously stated that Safe From Harm, the album title track, would be the final single. However, it is now looking like the final single will be Everything Will Work Out.

Empathy Test Lyrics

but you still do your best to hide your flaws
Everything you do is just surface
real all goes on behind closed doors
You´ll never know how it feels
to be out on a limb in the wind
to fall so hard you see stars
Everything we do is falling snowflakes
it would all have melted by the dawn
Give up all your feelings for your own sake
falling out into the storm
You´ll never know how it feels
to be out on a limb in the wind
And you´ll never know how much it hurts
to fall so hard you see stars
The lyrics of Empathy Test's song "Seeing Stars" suggests that people are often judged based on their appearance and actions in public, while their true self and struggles are hidden behind closed doors. The lyrics suggest that the person knows they are not perfect but still tries to hide their flaws in order to avoid scrutiny or judgement from others. The chorus describes the pain of falling hard and seeing stars, which can be interpreted both literally and figuratively. The verses suggest that everything people do may be perceived as a temporary fleeting moment, like falling snowflakes that will eventually melt away in the morning.
The overall message of the song seems to be about empathy and understanding. The lyrics suggest that we may never truly know what someone else is going through, especially those who are struggling in private. The song encourages listeners to try to understand and empathize with others, even if we may not fully comprehend their experiences.
Overall, "Seeing Stars" is a thought-provoking and emotional song that encourages empathy and understanding towards others.
