The song "El mismo juego" by Enanitos Verdes talks about a toxic and cyclical relationship that seems to repeat itself over and over again. The singer expresses feeling stuck in this situation despite knowing that things are not how they used to be. The lyrics describe the pain and frustration of not being able to escape this cycle, despite the desire for change. The singer acknowledges that the future seems uncertain and bleak, and the need to escape becomes urgent. The chorus, "siempre el mismo juego, vos y yo de nuevo" (always the same game, you and me again), emphasizes the repetitive nature of the relationship and the feeling of being trapped.
Furthermore, the line "no es terrible dejar todo" (it's not terrible to leave everything) suggests that as difficult as it may seem, ultimately breaking away from the cycle may be necessary for the singer's well-being. The metaphor of the ripened fruit represents change and growth, imploring the singer to embrace the idea of change, and move on from the toxic relationship.
Overall, "El mismo juego" is a poignant and relatable reflection on the challenges of trying to leave a toxic relationship, and how difficult it can be to break the cycle.
