Their name was devised by Justin Burford, because his opinion on the ideals of fashion itself but also because of its open interpretation. "I want to break down the walls - within that context, that image, we can do anything we want no matter whether it’s super cheesy or punk, I want to kill fashion, see the end of it."
Frontman Justin Burford and guitarist Rodney Aravena are both ex-members of the Australian group The Sleepy Jackson.
March 2004 saw them release the Rough Diamonds EP, and they followed it up with the Too Careful EP later on in the same year.
After performing at SXSW they were picked up by EMI/Capitol records for a worldwide distribution contract. On 25 August 2005, End of Fashion released their self titled debut album. Their debut single, O Yeah, won two ARIA Awards in 2005.
Their sophomore album Book of Lies was released in Australia in late 2008 and two singles, Fussy and Dying for You, have been released.
End of Fashion are currently working on new songs for their third album.

I wanted to say,
There's something wrong here
A lot to take,
I need to play the game again
All my friends are slipping in the mud,
Well it's a lot like dying, a lot like trying,
I don't know which way to point my kiss,
Well it's a lot too clever, it's all too severe,
All my friends are cold in their graves
Got an illusion,
I wanted to say,
There's something wrong here
A lot to take,
I need to play the game again
Got an illusion,
I guess it's okay,
There's something wrong here
A lot to take,
And I need to play the game again
All my friends are living in denial,
Well you ask no questions, I'll tell no secrets,
All my friends are trying to smile
I don't know which way to point my kiss,
Well it's a lot too clever, it's all too severe,
All my friends died right here
Got an illusion,
I wanted to say,
There's something wrong here
A lot to take,
I need to play the game again
Got an illusion,
I guess it's okay,
There's something wrong here
A lot to take,
And I need to play the game again
I need to play the game again
Got an illusion,
I wanted to say,
There's something wrong here
A lot to take,
I need to play the game again
Got an illusion,
I guess it's okay,
There's something wrong here
A lot to take,
And I need to play the game again
Got an illusion,
I wanted to say,
There's something wrong here
A lot to take,
And I need to play the game again
The lyrics of End of Fashion's "The Game" reveal a person longing to recreate a moment in the past and recapture the thrill of playing the game again. The persona has an illusion that he wants to express, and there seems to be something wrong that he wants to address. He talks about his friends who are slipping in the mud and are misunderstood, cold in their graves, living in denial and trying to smile. However, he does not know which way to point his kiss as everything is too clever and too severe. He feels that he needs to play the game again and take it all in, despite the challenges.
The song seems to drive home a nostalgic and poignant message. It reveals that life can be challenging, and it might seem like everything is falling apart. Still, the persona realizes that he has the power to start over again, to recreate the thrill and excitement of playing the game. It also highlights his journey of self-discovery and his desire to overcome the obstacles facing him. In essence, the lyrics of "The Game" point towards the struggles of life and the need for resilience, even when everything seems to be falling apart.
