Dry
Endeavor Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of Endeavor's song "Dry" address the corrupt nature of corporations and the power dynamic between the individual and the system. The opening lines acknowledge the significance of money in our society and how it ultimately determines one's status, but the following lines suggest that there is still hope for change. The repetition of "bleed them" and "rape them" in reference to the corporations may be interpreted as a call to action to take back power from these entities by withholding support and resources.
The song also speaks to the idea of collective action and the importance of unity in the face of oppressive forces. The lines "There's more than you and me despising what we see" highlight the need for individuals to come together in order to effect meaningful change. The lyric "It's not a question of the impact of one. It's the fact that one and one makes two" emphasizes the power of collective action and the idea that individual efforts are only truly impactful when combined with others.
