Away from Here
Enemy Lyrics

Of working just to be retired
I don't want to get that far
I don't want your company car
Promotions ain't my thing
Name badges are not interesting
It's much easier for me see
To stay at home with Richard and Judy
Awayaway oh oh oh away from here...
Awayaway oh oh oh away from here
Awayaway oh oh oh away from here
Awayaway oh oh oh away from here
I'm fed up of early mornings
Wake up calls are getting boring round here
Feet dragging on the pavement
The same people with the same arrangement
Irony can be quite funny
You making other people money
My working day has just begun
Its not exactly what I would call fun
I want to wake up in the afternoon
With daytime TV and my favourite tune
'Cause it is much easier for me see
To stay at home with Richard and Judy
Awayaway oh oh oh away from here.....
Away away away away from
Saturday is your only highlight
When you go out and live the highlife
Meeting up with other people
Your interaction with the weak and feable
Atleast when all is said and done
You wouldn't be the only one
To be a slave to the modern wage
Your crappy weekend is your only escape
I want to wake up in the afternoon
With daytime TV and my favourite tune
'Cause it is much easier for me
To stay at home with Richard and Judy
Awayaway oh oh oh away from here.....
Away away away away from here
The central theme of the song "Away From Here" by Enemy is the frustration and dissatisfaction of the singer with his everyday life. The lyrics describe his reluctance towards the traditional corporate culture of the nine-to-five job, and the monotonous routine it brings. The singer expresses his disregard for promotions, name badges, and company cars, suggesting that material rewards could never justify his daily struggle to maintain his job. He also mentions the irony of making other people rich while working long hours, with little reward.
The only respite from his mundane working life appears to be the weekends, which he describes as 'crappy' and the only escape from his daily routine. The singer's ultimate desire is to break away from the monotony and leave his daily grind altogether. He dreams of waking up later in the day, watching daytime TV and listening to his favorite tunes, rather than being the first to rise, attend meetings, and slog through yet another day. His ideal world is one away from a corporate treadmill, with daytime shows and leisurely pursuits.
The song's lyrics express a relatable sentiment and depict the idea of being stuck in a rut in everyday life. The frustrations of the singer are shared by many, and the lyrics are likely to resonate with a broad audience. Despite the simple nature of the song, the message is meaningful, and the song remains popular after its release.

We live and dining these towns is one of the most heartbreaking songs and one of the most inspirational all at the same time...
Dont let the sun go down is equally as heartwrenching to me, being a minimum wage earning forklift truck driver whose life dreams have slipped between my fingers, and I'm due to live our my existence in relative hardship and a life of frugality.
But sure it grand, we all live it one way or another.
Great tracks lads.
