Have I told you there's no one else above you?
Fill my heart with gladness, take away all my sadness,
Ease my troubles, that's what you do.
For the morning sun in all it's glory,
Meets the day with hope and comfort too,
You fill my life with laughter, somehow you make it better,
There's a love less defined,
And it's yours and it's mine,
Like the sun.
And at the end of the day,
We should give thanks and pray,
To The One, to The One.
Have I Told You Lately that I love you?
Have I told you there's no one else above you?
Fill my heart with gladness, take away all my sadness,
Ease my troubles, that's what you do.
There's a love less defined,
And its yours and its mine,
Like the sun. And at the end of the day,
We should give thanks and pray,
To The One, to The One.
Have I Told You Lately That I Love you?
Have I told you there's no one else above you?
Fill my heart with gladness, take away all my sadness,
Ease my troubles, that's what you do.
Take away all my sadness, fill my life with gladness,
Ease my troubles, that's what you do.
Take away all my sadness, fill my life with gladness,
Ease my troubles, that's what you do.
"Have I Told You Lately" is a classic love song that expresses deep affection and appreciation for someone special. The song begins with a series of questions, asking if the singer has expressed his love and devotion lately. The line "fill my heart with gladness, take away all my sadness" highlights the central theme of the song, which is the transformative power of love to bring joy and happiness to a person's life.
The second verse compares the love shared between the two as the morning sun, which brings hope and comfort. The singer acknowledges how their partner has brought laughter and has made their life better, indicating their profound effect on his life.
The repetitive nature of the song's lyrics and its melody make it extremely catchy and easy to remember. The chorus, which repeats each time, reinforces the message of the song regarding the importance of expressing one's affection and gratitude.
