That this heart of mine embraces all day through
In that small cafe, the park across the way
The children's carousel,
The chestnut trees, the wishing well
I'll be seeing you in every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find you in the morning' sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you
I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you
Engelbert Humperdinck's rendition of I'll Be Seeing You tells the story of someone who, despite being separated from their loved one, remembers and cherishes the memories they shared in different places. In the first stanza, the singer lists various locations in which they used to spend time with their significant other. These places hold special meaning to them, and they keep seeing their loved one in them, even though they are no longer present. Each location, from the small cafe to the wishing well, is a reminder of the past, and the singer holds onto these memories as a way of staying connected to their lover.
In the second stanza, the singer highlights the beauty of summer days and how they see their lover in all the light and joyous moments of life. They acknowledge that even though they are not physically together anymore, thoughts of their loved one make them happy and bring light to their life.
The final stanza talks about how the singer looks for their loved one in the morning sun and the night sky. They may not be able to physically see them, but they know that they will always be there looking out for them, and they will always hold a special place in their heart.
Overall, the song I'll Be Seeing You is a heartwarming reminder of the power of memories and how they can keep us connected to those we love despite physical distance. The song is a testament to the important role that memories play in our lives, and how they help us hold onto the people we care about the most.
