Love Will Set You Free

No matter the distance, a miracle of sight
Though I should have known, I could not turn away
When faced with your beauty no reason can stay
As you kiss him in the moonlight
With heavy words I say
'Cause love comes once if you're lucky enough
Though I'll miss you forever, the hurt will run deep
Only love can set you free
Trust in your dreams, run with no fear
And if you should stumble remember I'm near
As a ghost I will walk, I'll look deep in my soul
I might find another, you gave me that hope
So as you kiss him in the moonlight
With heavy words I say
If you love someone, follow your heart
'Cause love comes once if you're lucky enough
Though I'll miss you forever and the hurt will run deep
Only love can set you free
And if you love someone, follow your heart
'Cause love comes once if you're lucky enough
Though I'll miss you forever, the hurt will run deep
Love will set you free
The song "Love Will Set You Free" performed by Engelbert Humperdinck is a beautiful composition that is rich in emotion and meaning. The lyrics of the song speak to the power and complexity of love, urging the listener to follow their heart, even when it might lead them down a difficult path. The opening lines, "So graceful and pure, a smile bathed in light / No matter the distance, a miracle of sight," describe the object of the singer's affection as an otherworldly, ethereal being, one whose beauty is impossible to ignore. Despite this, the singer acknowledges that their love is not meant to be, saying, "Though I should have known, I could not turn away / When faced with your beauty no reason can stay."
The chorus of the song contains the central message, encouraging the listener to follow their heart, even if it leads them away from the person singing the song. The lines "If you love someone, follow your heart / 'Cause love comes once if you're lucky enough / Though I'll miss you forever, the hurt will run deep / Only love can set you free" are a powerful reminder that love is worth pursuing, even if it doesn't end in a happily ever after.
Overall, "Love Will Set You Free" is a poignant reminder of the power of love and the importance of listening to one's heart.

If he had sung this 20 years ago, he propably would have won the Eurovision contest. But nowadays this kind of music isn't appreciated any more. I like it but i'm 60. Nowadays it's all about the act, not the singing.
@itsjemmabond
I agree. These days you need something catchy because not everybody in Europe speaks English, and of course only young people vote these days.
@jesussc7420
That's not the point. The point is that his voice was absolutely a mess live. He had a horrible performance, he was really nervous. In ESC you have to give everything live...
