And now, the end is near
I am approaching the end of my life.

And so I face the final curtain
I acknowledge that my life is coming to an end and I must prepare for my death.

My friends, I'll say it clear
I want to make my intentions and feelings clear to my friends and loved ones.

I'll state my case of which I'm certain
I am confident in my choices and actions throughout my life.

I've lived a life that's full
I have lived a fulfilling life with a great deal of experiences.

I traveled each and every highway
I have explored and taken on many different paths in life.

But more, much more than this
Beyond my journeys, there is still more to my life and identity than just my accomplishments.

I did it my way
I have made my choices and lived my life according to my own desires and standards.

Regrets, I've had a few
There are some actions and choices in my life that I wish I would have done differently.

But then again, too few to mention
Overall, I am content with the life that I have lived and do not dwell on my regrets.

I did what I had to do
I have made my decisions and choices based on what I genuinely felt was necessary at the time.

And saw it through without exemption
I have followed through on my decisions and have not allowed any obstacles or challenges to deter me.

I planned each chartered course
I have taken care to make calculated and thoughtful decisions over the course of my life.

Each careful step along the byway
I have carefully considered each action and decision I have made, no matter how large or small.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
There have been moments in my life where I made mistakes and others knew of my shortcomings.

When I bit off more than I could chew
I have put myself in challenging situations that were more than I could handle.

But through it all, when there was doubt
Despite moments of doubt, I remained resilient and continued to persevere through life's difficulties.

I ate it up and spit it out
I have consumed life's challenges and come out the other side stronger.

I faced it all and I stood tall
I confront life's issues head-on and have always remained true to myself and my ideals.

And did it my way
I am proud of the life that I have lived and the choices I have made.

I've loved, laughed and cried
Throughout my life, I have experienced a wide range of emotions and have formed meaningful relationships with others.

I've had my fill, my share of losing
I have faced disappointment and tragedy in life, but these experiences do not define me.

And now, as tears subside
As I near the end of my life, my emotional attachments to my past experiences are settling.

I find it all so amusing
I can see the humor in the trials and tribulations of my life.

To think I did all that
Reflecting on my life's experiences, I can hardly believe all that I have done and accomplished.

And may I say, not in a shy way
I am proud of my achievements and do not diminish them for anyone.

Oh no, no, not me
I am comfortable in my identity and have not compromised who I am for anyone or anything.

I did it my way
I have taken full responsibility for my life and lived it according to my own terms.

For what is a man, what has he got
What matters most in life for any individual? What is the value of life?

If not himself then he has not
If a person cannot be true to oneself, then one has nothing of true importance.

To say all the things he truly feels
It is important to be honest and genuine in our expression of ourselves and our feelings.

And not the words of one who kneels
We must not compromise what we truly feel or believe in for the sake of fitting in or pleasing others.

The record shows, I took the blows
My life has had its fair share of challenges and disappointment, but I have overcome them and continued to live my life according to my own values and principles.

But I did it my way
I have lived a fulfilling and rewarding life, staying true to myself and my ideals throughout.
