Yesterday, November 4, 2022, I had the opportunity to take my wife to see Engelbert sing live one more time to celebrate our 42nd. anniversary. This great singer, despite having physical problems, has not lost anything of his great voice. Best of all, my wife was thrilled to see her favorite singer so close to her. Time shouldn't go through this kind of stars that make us happy, and at the same time make us dream awake. Let's keep listening to Mr. Engelbert Humperdinck so that he will never be forgotten by the new generations.

@@Casperdghost618 Darren, LP stands for Long Play, thats becaause back in the 60's there was 2 typs of vinil records thr LP that was a 33 1/3 speed and about 12 inches diameter and lasted about 25 to 30 minutes per side, and the 45 speed that lasted about 8 to 10 minutes per side and about 7 inches diameter

With the exception of scent, few things transport you back in time like music. This was the kind of stuff that was played in my childhood home. Jim Reeves was another favourite. I haven't heard it in a very long time, but when I did now it took me right back. Parents and guests drunk as skunks, wiping a sentimental tear to Humperdink's divine voice. None of their lives turned out the way they had dreamed about. Memories seem so far away it's like they belong to a completely different life, and in many ways they do. Reality was very different back then.

Anyone buy the coffee brand 'Douwe Egberts'? Most of my family, (parents, grandparents, aunts and so on), say "oh when you go shopping, can you pick up some Engelbert Humperdinck, please?"

I thought this guy was a coffee brand before I was old enough to even drink coffee. It’s been passed on, now I’m in my 30s and I’ve been saying it for years too.

Just a weird/funny little story I thought I’d share, feel free to do the same - Guy has such a good voice, this song gives me goosebumps.

This song, like others, is a great example of how rhythm and melody can make all the difference between great success and average fame... Other singers recorded it previously, but in a different rhythm that they didn't like, having not made it. success as in E. Humperdinck's version...!
