Please please don't cry, this is just adios and not good-bye
Soon I'll return, bringing you all the love your heart can hold
Please say "Si Si" say you and your Spanish eyes will wait for me
Blue Spanish eyes, prettiest eyes in all of Mexico
Blue Spanish eyes, please smile for me once more before I go
Soon I'll return, bringing you all the love your heart can holdPlease say "Si Si" say you and your Spanish eyes will wait for me
Uh, uh, uh,
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
Soon I'll return, bringing you all the love your heart can hold
Please say "Si Si" say you and your Spanish eyes will wait for me
Say you and your Spanish eyes will wait for me
Say you and your Spanish eyes will wait for me
The lyrics to Engelbert Humperdinck's song Spanish Eyes are about a man who is bidding farewell to his lover who has beautiful blue Spanish eyes. He sees that she's crying because he's leaving and wants her to understand that he will soon return to her with all the love her heart can hold. He tells her that this is just a temporary goodbye and not a permanent one. He asks her to smile at him once more before he leaves and to wait for him until he returns.
The lyrics paint a picture of a love that is sincere and true. The blue of the woman's eyes is a symbol of the depth of her emotions, and the teardrops that are falling from them are a representation of her sadness at being separated from her lover. The man assures her that he will return soon and asks her to wait for him. He wants their love to be strong enough to withstand the distance that separates them.
In short, the lyrics to Spanish Eyes are about two lovers who are separating but are committed to each other and their relationship. They believe that their love will endure, and they will be reunited soon.
