The Last Waltz

The band had only one more song to play.
And then I saw you out the corner of my eye,
A little girl, alone and so shy.
I had the last waltz with you,
Two lonely people together.
I fell in love with you,
But the love we had was going strong,
Through the good and bad we get along.
And then the flame of love died in your eye,
My heart was broke in two when you said goodbye.
I had the last waltz with you,
Two lonely people together.
I fell in love with you,
The last waltz should last forever.
It's all over now, nothing left to say,
Just my tears and the orchestra playing.
La la la la la la la la la,
La la la la la la la la la.
I had the last waltz with you,
Two lonely people together.
I fell in love with you,
The last waltz should last forever.
La la la la la la la la la.
The Last Waltz by Engelbert Humperdinck is a classic love ballad. The song describes a moment when the singer is faced with a decision to leave or stay at a dance. He spots a shy girl in the crowd, and they end up dancing together. As they dance, they fall in love, and the singer wishes the dance would last forever. The song takes a sad turn when the girl ends their relationship, and the singer is left to mourn their love.
The lyrics are deeply emotional and nostalgic. The last waltz symbolizes the end of a relationship, and the singer is left with nothing but memories of the past. The tone of the song is sorrowful, as the singer laments their lost love. However, the song captures the beauty of falling in love, even if the relationship doesn't last.
