True Love At Last
Engelbert Humperdinck Lyrics

I haven't felt this dead in years
This room's full of people
With drinks in their hands, and nothing but nothing to say
Don't go away yet
It seems like everyone I love is gone
I'm praying for some kind of change
Don't leave me now, you are the only thing left to believe in
Don't let me down, you are the last thing that I feel complete in
Don't go away yet
True love is dying off
Where everyone is searching
I'm just a face in the crowd
Said you wanted distance, this is what you get
The distance was half near far enough
(I could take it all if you come back, I dreamed of you and it came true)
In "True Love at Last," Engelbert Humperdinck sings about the feeling of loneliness and despair that can come from being around people who seem to have nothing to say or no genuine connection. He pleads with his love not to leave him because she is the only person left who he can believe in and who makes him feel complete. The lines "True love is dying off // Where everyone is searching // I'm just a face in the crowd" speak to the idea that finding true love can be difficult in our society where it feels like everyone is searching for it but often comes up empty-handed.
The chorus of the song - "Don't go away yet // I haven't felt this dead in years" - is particularly poignant. The use of the word "dead" to describe the feeling of loneliness and emptiness is powerful and evocative. It's as if the singer has been going through the motions of living but hasn't really felt alive until this moment. He's afraid that if his love leaves, he'll go back to feeling dead inside.
Overall, "True Love at Last" is a heart-wrenching song about the struggle to find genuine connection in a world that can often feel cold and empty.

"Похоже, все, кого я любил ушли
Я молюсь за какие-то изменения
Ничего не изменилось, и ничего не изменится
Не оставляйте меня сейчас, вы только то во что остается верить
Не подведите меня, вы последнее, из-за кого я чувствую себя в норме..
Не уходте еще.."
