Growing up in Britain with Asian roots, Prash had always sought to reconcile his varied musical influences from The Prodigy and Rage Against The Machine through to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Talvin Singh. Indeed, working towards Engine-EarZ’s debut album the focus is to smash glass divides between genres and ideologies; fusing indigenous musics from around the world with elements of dubstep, drum’n’bass, electronica and rock.
On December 14th Engine-EarZ Experiment release their debut limited edition release, an instrumental double bill on vinyl & download; ‘Kaliyuga’ backed up by ‘Introspector’.
Through remixing artists from Sean Paul through to Basement Jaxx, the collective has already drawn attention across the entire BBC Radio network, with plays from the likes of Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Ras Kwame, Mary-Anne Hobbs, Nerm & D-Code, Tom Robinson, Friction, Nihal with a second BBC Maida Vale session having just taken place in December with Mista Jam for 1XTRA.
Engine Earz Experiment have started to make a name for themselves both as djs and a live set included playing alongside a list that boasts Caspa, Rusko, Shy FX, Skream, Benga as well as headlining spots at the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury 2009 and the London Mela.
So with growing support from fans and critics alike, some big remixes and festivals in the pipeline, and an album to drop in 2010, it looks like things are only getting started for the Engine-EarZ Experiment!
Reach You
Engine-EarZ Experiment Lyrics

All I ever wanted to be, is running away like water
I asked a question, Am I tangled in destruction?
How can I put it back again, Vicious circles, I hold my weapon
Can you find me a way, to reach you
Can you find me a way, to understand
Somewhere I lost my integrity
I came here on my own, but I don't want to leave alone
We need space, give us space
We need space, just give us space
We need space, just give us space
We need space, oh
Can you find me a way, to reach you
Can you find me a way, to understand
(All I need.)
(All we need.)
(Space.) Can you find me a way, to reach you
Can you find me a way, to understand
The lyrics to the song "Reach You" by Engine-EarZ Experiment are about a person who is struggling with their past and trying to escape it. They feel tangled in destruction and are looking for a way to put the pieces of their life back together. The lyrics express a desire for connection and understanding, as the person asks for help reaching and understanding another person.
The opening line, "Pieces of the past, now dreams seem to matter," sets the tone for the song. The person is reflecting on their past, but also recognizes that their dreams and aspirations are important. However, they feel like they are running away like water, unable to hold onto them.
The next line, "I asked a question, Am I tangled in destruction?" shows that the person is aware of the negative patterns in their life and is questioning how to break free from them. They also mention holding a weapon, which could be a metaphor for the tools they have to fight against these patterns.
The chorus of the song repeats the plea for connection and understanding, asking if someone can find a way to reach and understand them. The repetition of "We need space" could be interpreted as the person feeling overwhelmed and needing room to breathe and process.
Overall, "Reach You" is a vulnerable and introspective song that expresses the universal desire for connection and understanding, while acknowledging the complexity of our past experiences and the struggles we face in moving forward.
