Infinite Ways
Enon Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

She came without a trace
Exploding in her place
She's just a little girl
Much bigger than the world

composure come and gone
With hunger like a bomb
And now she gets her turn
To breathe the wind and burn

blow infinite ways

Overall Meaning

The opening lines of Enon's song "Infinite Ways" set the tone for this mysterious and enigmatic track. The first two lines depict the arrival of a female figure who seems to have appeared out of nowhere ("She came without a trace / Exploding in her place"). The lyrics suggest that this person is highly significant, as she is described as "much bigger than the world."

The next stanza suggests a sense of turmoil within this figure ("composure come and gone / With hunger like a bomb"). Despite this, however, she now appears to be taking control of her own destiny, taking her turn "to breathe the wind and burn." The final line of the song, "blow infinite ways," perhaps suggests that she has an almost limitless potential or energy.

The lyrics to "Infinite Ways" are open to interpretation, and it's unclear exactly who or what this mysterious female figure represents. However, the evocative and poetic language used by Enon creates a vivid image of a powerful, almost otherworldly character who is ready to make her mark on the world.

on Knock That Door

Yup... just another good song by Enon. But wait! This song is an all-time great. I searched Enon on Spotify, and I knew all the top 5 most popular songs but this one. I knew and liked all the other top 5 Enon songs, so I just listened to this and didn't begin to regret it.

on Spanish Boots

Opportunity nooses than hang beyond the shade(?)
Machiavellian stooges that feign whatever's said
South Floridian ruses with nothing left to sell
Polynesian(?) amusements that fall under the spell

Having the same conversation,
The same hell
Then mainly for yourself

Oh it's the same kind of aim
At the game dealt
And mainly for yourself
For the better of your health

Vanished loot are the riches
That lay upon the breast
Spanish Boots for the witches
That kiss before the test

Gotta loom on the fixes
Bare waste and so severe
Minor shoots at the pieces
Lies burnt to stay, oh it's all so in vain

That it's the same conversation,
The same hell
Then mainly for yourself

Oh it's the same pile of names at the game,
Hell, then mainly for yourself
For the better of your health

Oh it's the same conversation,
The same hell
Then mainly for yourself

Oh it's the same pile of names at the game,
Hell, then mainly for yourself

Oh it's the same conversation,
The same hell
Then mainly for yourself

Oh it's the same pile of names at the game,
Hell, then mainly for yourself
For the better of your health
