Following the release of their first album "Believo!" in 2000, Calhoon left the band, and was replaced by Toko Yasuda on vocals and bass, and Matt Schulz on drums; with this line up, Enon released "High Society" in 2002.
Lee left the band, and Enon went on to release "Hocus Pocus" in 2003, and a collection of rare material entitled "Lost Marbles and Exploded Evidence" was released in 2005.
Enon performed on an October 2008 episode of Yo Gabba Gabba! titled "Robot".
In a May 2011 interview, after touring with Caribou for a good portion of 2010 and 2011, Schmersal confirmed the band "is pretty much over" with no plans to follow up on Grass Geysers...Carbon Clouds.
In 2011 and 2012, Toko Yasuda toured as a member of St. Vincent playing synth. She also released the album Parthenon under the name Plvs Vltra. Parthenon is her first solo album which features collaborations with Danny Ray Thompson of the Sun Ra Arkestra, Scott Allen of Thunderbirds Are Now!, Thomas Keville of Man Man, and John Schmersal, also of Enon, who produced the album.

Storm the Gates
Enon Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Cheek mole charming
Castin out to sea
Disarming
turnin up like
Judas harlem
Barrium fictitia
they crawl around behind like
All the rats around the tunnel line
And live a little as to hide away
the world has changed and so has mine
It never was so strange
below the street
So paralyzed
Forever and a day
then storm the gates
To justify
The feathers on the
Weight.
Pullin string from far behind them
Tightly held with fingers swollen
Carcinoma secret garden
In a tomb, fictitia pardon
they crawl around behind like
All the rats around the tunnel line
And live a little as to hide away
the world has changed and so has mine
It never was so strange
below the street
So paralyzed
Forever and a day
then storm the gates
To justify
The feathers on the
Weight.
The lyrics of Enon's song "Storm the Gates" are full of ambiguity and enigmatic expressions, making it a subject of various interpretations. The song's first verse contains obscure phrases that seem to be unrelated, such as "Play viola," "Cheek mole charming," and "Castin out to sea," among others. Still, when put together, they create a sense of detachment or a fragmented reality, paving the way for the chorus's main message.
The second verse is less cryptic than the first, portraying a darker and more ominous scenario. Words like "Carcinoma secret garden" and "fictitia pardon" suggest the existence of a hidden and dangerous element, and the "rats around the tunnel line" reinforce this dark vibe. The slow tempo of the song amplifies the feeling of suspense, which explodes into the chorus, where the main character urges listeners to "storm the gates" to "justify the feathers on the weight," though what exactly they are referring to is unclear.
Overall, "Storm the Gates" is a perplexing piece of music that captures the listener's attention with a somber and alluring melody while challenging them to decipher its hidden meanings.
