Glue
Enovelle Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And take a picture of you. And I think, what a beautiful view
Your pretty blue eyes crying, hiding the pain of the world
And I said, hey mister can you hear the silent whispers
of the poor and the hungry, baby seals, rosewood trees,
all the queens, and the fluffy things and me?
No, it’s quarter to eight and I‘m late.
And I said, hey mister can you hear the silent whispers
of the poor and the hungry, baby seals, rosewood trees,
all the queens, and the fluffy things and me?
If I had one final wish, glue will be it.
So I could paste the world together one last time
And I said hey mister can you hear the silent whispers
of the poor and the hungry, baby seals, rosewood trees,
all the queens and fluffy things,
all the Jews, milky moos, fish in a pan, maybe you, maybe me
and what about all the bees and all the bears?
Who cares? who cares? maybe just me.
The song "Glue" by Enovelle is a poignant piece that showcases the artist's concern for the world and the issues that plague it. In the first verse, the singer talks about a dream they had where they could fly to the moon and take a picture of someone they care for. However, the beauty of the view is tainted by the sight of tears in the person's eyes, hiding the pain they feel. This is a metaphor for the pain and suffering many people endure every day, even amidst the beauty of the world around us.
The second verse is a commentary on the disregard for the voices of those who are suffering the most, including the poor, hungry, and voiceless creatures such as baby seals and rosewood trees. The use of "fluffy things" refers to animals such as rabbits and squirrels, while the mention of queens alludes to the powerful and privileged individuals who are capable of making positive changes but often choose not to. The singer is pleading for the attention and compassion of someone who has the ability to help.
The final verse takes a desperate turn as the singer expresses their ultimate wish to have glue so they can fix the world, even if it is just for one last time. This is a tragic and melancholic statement, as it is an acknowledgement that the singer feels powerless to make a significant difference in the face of all the world's problems. The final chorus emphasizes the idea that there are so many voices that go unheard, from all the Jews, milky moos, fish in a pan, bees, and bears. The repetition of "who cares" highlights the artist's frustration that so many people seem unwilling to prioritize the needs of others and the environment.

And yes--- she does all kinds of collage for more fine art or in the altered book. <3 So much fun!!! I have several I have created along the way!! <3 Super amazing artist, person, mentor-- she is just wonderful!! <3 <3 <3 And this book--- yummy!!! <3 Just have to remember the strung book-
-and don't break the strings if you can help it. But books are just paperwe can fix just about anything with a little creativity and the supplies we already have on hand. <3 <3 <3 So even if we pop that spine out- the pages start to fall out- we can fix it!!! <3 LorriMarie has videos on that as well!!! <3 <3 <3 Thanks so much for the video- love your new collage book!!! <3Roxy Creations

LorrieMarie is an awesome Mixed Media artist! I’ve been watching her for years. Love that she uses mod podge & adds torn book pages into her book to provide more support for her pages which she calls “under pants”. Happy to hear you’ve found her, as well. She also uses gel medium, that allows her to paint her pages, in her books. As well as textured paste, creating wonderful Altered books!

Thank you, I watch LorriMarie, she’s inspiring. I am not an artist at all but I might give some of her ideas a go, after all you inspired me to dabble with my daughter’s old watercolours.
