Andiamo
Enrico Ruggeri Lyrics

I camerieri sgombrano, e non si beve più.
Le voci si allontanano, silenzi sopra noi.
Colori che si sgranano,
E tu che ormai sorridere non sai.
Andiamo, andiamo, andiamo via.
Da dove sei venuta;
Ho la macchina qui fuori.
Si va dove vuoi tu.
Andiamo, andiamo, andiamo via.
Andiamo, andiamo, come una volta
Prima di questa realtà.
Andiamo, andiamo
Andiamo via
The lyrics of Enrico Ruggeri's song "Andiamo" paint a picture of a scene in a bar or a nightclub where it's closing time and everyone is leaving. The chairs are on the tables and the waiters are clearing up. The voices of people fade away, leaving just silence between the singer and his companion. The colors of the place become diluted as the party ends, but the singer's companion fails to keep up with the moment and continues wearing a smile that no longer fits the somber mood.
The chorus "Andiamo, andiamo, andiamo via" translates to "Let's go, let's go, let's go away" and is a call to leave the place and return to a more carefree time before real-life intruded. The singer recognizes the melancholy feeling that comes with the end of a good time and tries to recapture the moment by suggesting they leave and go somewhere else. He offers to drive his companion back to where she came from, and the song ends with a haunting melody that echoes the lost youth and missed opportunities that they can never get back.
