Figli di...
Enrico Ruggeri Lyrics

Non vogliamo niente;
I bastardi siete voi.
Non vogliamo niente, ci hai creato tu;
Non vogliamo niente;
I bastardi siete voi.
Non vogliamo niente, ci hai creato tu;
Non torniamo indietro più
The lyrics of Enrico Ruggeri's song, "Figli Di..." (Children Of...) express the frustration and disillusionment of a generation that feels detached, alienated, and unsupported by their predecessors or society. It seems that there is no room, nor taste, for new heroes, and the current generation has become a generation of frustration and alienation. They don't owe anything to anyone, and they don't want anything from anyone. They are the bastard products of a broken system that has created them to serve the powerful, and they see themselves as the generation that can no longer turn back.
The song's title "Figli Di..." suggests a sense of inheritance and lineage, but what the current generation has inherited from their parents is disillusionment and alienation. The song blames the older generations for failing to inspire, guide, or create a better future for their children. The song's lyrics use irony and sarcasm to underscore their contempt towards the establishment and those who hold power. It is a scathing critique of a society that has failed its youngest citizens and created a generation of rebels.
