La gente adesso è stufa, ci vuole ragionare;
Vuol capire il perchè di queste perette.
Eccola la meta, ecco il vostro gioco:
Spingere le masse nella vostra direzione.
Ciò che accade in strada è ancora troppo poco,
Ci siamo già stufati di questa situazione.
Che bello è il lavaggio del cervello,
Che bello è il lavaggio del cervello.
Televisione, radio, giornali e riviste
Fan subito vedere Italia-Brasile.
Che bello è il lavaggio del cervello,
Che bello è il lavaggio del cervello.
Voi credete forse di poterci manovrare,
Girare e rigirare come delle marionette.
La gente adesso è stufa, ci vuole ragionare;
Vuol capire il perchè di queste perette.
Eccola la meta, ecco il vostro gioco:
Spingere le masse nella vostra direzione.
Ciò che accade in strada è ancora troppo poco,
Ci siamo già stufati di questa situazione.
Che bello è il lavaggio del cervello,
Che bello è il lavaggio del cervello....
The lyrics of Enrico Ruggeri's song "Il Lavaggio Del Cervello" are a fierce criticism of the media and the manipulation of information they carry out. The song starts by accusing television, radio, newspapers, and magazines of forming a coalition to destroy people's minds and make them their conquests, living in poverty despite craving well-being. The media's power is emphasized by the fact that what they say has become law for everyone, and the song sarcastically refers to their product, which people should not regret buying. The chorus, "Che bello è il lavaggio del cervello," meaning "How beautiful is brainwashing," is a sarcastic commentary on how the media manipulate and control people's minds.
The song also speaks of people's growing dissatisfaction with the media's manipulation and control, inviting individuals to raise their heads and not be swept up in the herd mentality. The lyrics highlight how the media thinks they can manipulate people like marionettes, but people are starting to grow tired of the situation and crave to understand the reasons behind the media's actions.
Overall, the song is a reflection on the power of the media and the sometimes-dangerous effect it has on the public, urging people to stay alert and not be swept up in the false promises and manipulative techniques used by those in power.
