Trash

La bambina nella casa si sentiva
Irrimediabilmente sola
Perfino con la bambola e con
La filippina
Non scambiava una parola
(trash)
Venne fuori dalla sala
Migliaia di persone sconosciute
A risvegliare la bambina che ora vola
Tra gli attori del cinema
E i bambini dell'africa
Tra le liti in famiglia
E le storie d'amore
Per un mondo migliore
La bambina sorride
Ighiottita dal trash... trash
(trash)
E i bambini dell'africa
Tra le liti in famiglia
E le storie d'amore
Per un mondo migliore
La bambina rimane inghiottita dal trash... trash
The Enrico Ruggeri's song "Trash" is a commentary on the empty, superficial aspects of modern society. The lyrics describe a young girl who feels lonely in her home and doesn't communicate even with her toys. However, when she steps out into the world, she is surrounded by a plethora of people who she describes as "unknown" but who bring light into her life. From actors in Hollywood to African children, from family quarrels to love stories, she smiles and is swallowed up by the "trash" of the world, which she sees as something to aspire to.
The song seems to suggest that even the most mundane parts of life can be transformed into something magical and inspiring if we are willing to engage with them. The girl in the song is depicted as someone who is open and curious about the world around her and who finds beauty and grace in unexpected places. At the same time, the song warns against getting too caught up in appearances and forgetting about the things that truly matter in life.
In summary, "Trash" is an insightful critique of modern society's obsession with superficiality and the need for us to look beyond these shallowness to find meaning and beauty.
