The band eventually broke up in 1996 and Bunbury started his solo career in 1997 with a techno album, Radical Sonora with his new band: Copi (piano), del Moran (bass), Ramón Gacias (drums) and former Héroes del Silencio guitarrist Alan Boguslavsky.
Recognized by his wish to always reinvent himself, Bunbury released in 1999 the album Pequeño, which sounded much different than anything he did before. His band also suffered changes, Boguslavsky was replaced by Rafa Domínguez, and the new faces, Ana Belén Estaje (violin), Luis Miguel Romero (percussion), Javier Iñigo, Javier García Vega & Antonio Ríos in the metal instruments.
This band was known as the "Huracán Ambulante" ("Rambling Hurricane") and recorded with Bunbury the rest of his solo discography, (except Antonio Ríos).
In 2005, after 8 years together, Bunbury dissolved the band and declared that will record a new album in 2006 only with his voice and a piano. Nevertheless, in early 2006 he recorded an album with spanish artist Nacho Vegas by the name of El tiempo de las cerezas.
His old band, Héroes del Silencio, reunited in 2007 for a short tour which visited Latin America, United States and Spain.
Fantasia
Enrique Bunbury Lyrics

Un recuerdo lejano que guarde
En algún lugar.
Mi, teatro, eres tu
Actuando, sin público
Y aplausos y
Ficción, la verdad no encontré
Donde creí que estaba
Siempre fue tan real, tu
Mi ilusión eres tú,
Una estrella que alumbra el corazón
Vi la magia en tus ojos,
Es caricia en mi piel
Es locura el deseo,
En tu boca de miel
En un circo de besos
Fantasía es teatro
Es ilusión,
Fantasía es teatro es ilusión.
The lyrics to Enrique Bunbury's song Fantasia are an ode to someone who is both a distant memory and a present-day reality. The singer remarks that this person is his fantasy, a faraway recollection that he has kept in some secret place in his heart. He goes on to say that this person is also his theater – an entity that performs for him alone, without any audience or applause. The truth, he realizes, is elusive, and he has not found it where he thought he would. In his dreams, he always knew that this person was real, and he regards them as his ultimate illusion, a star that illuminates his heart. He has seen magic in this person's eyes, felt their touch on his skin, and desired them with an all-consuming madness that only they could satisfy. For him, kissing this person is like being in a circus, where anything is possible, and fantasy becomes reality.
One interesting interpretation of these lyrics could be that the singer is talking about his own creative process, using metaphorical language to describe how he draws inspiration from his own memories and imagination. He sees himself as both the audience and the performer in his own private theater, and he knows that his best work comes from tapping into his own fantasies and desires. In this sense, the song becomes a celebration of the power of the human imagination and a reminder that reality is often just a matter of perception.
Overall, the lyrics to Fantasia are rich with emotion and imagery, inviting listeners to reflect on the nature of memory, desire, and artistic creation. Whether one interprets the song as a love letter to a specific person, a meditation on the power of the imagination, or something else entirely, it is clear that this is a song that speaks to the human experience on a deep and profound level.
